The Alliance of Business Lawyers (ABL) is excited to announce the launch of the ABL Secondment Program, a unique initiative designed to provide law students and practicing lawyers with enriching, hands-on experience within our extensive global network. As a premier network of business law firms, ABL remains committed to promoting cross-jurisdictional collaboration and professional development across borders.
The ABL Secondment Program offers participants the invaluable opportunity to live and work in diverse jurisdictions, gaining firsthand insights into various legal systems, cultures, and professional practices. By immersing themselves in new environments, participants will enhance their legal expertise, broaden their professional perspectives, and establish meaningful connections with colleagues worldwide.
Participants in the program will engage in daily legal activities alongside local lawyers, including court visits, client meetings, and other professional interactions. This exposure to different legal systems and cultural practices will be conducted with the utmost respect for local confidentiality laws and attorney-client privilege, ensuring that all professional standards are maintained.
We are pleased to share a success story from within our network: Andrew Grech from David Zahra & Associates Advocates, ABL member firm in Malta, has recently embarked on a two-month legal internship in Chicago at the offices of CTM Legal Group, our Chicago member firm. This experience underscores the potential of the ABL Secondment Program to foster growth and strengthen connections within our alliance.
The ABL Secondment Program represents a significant step forward in our mission to cultivate a dynamic and interconnected legal community. We look forward to seeing our members take full advantage of this opportunity to expand their horizons and enhance their legal expertise.
