Intellectual Property: Major Developments in India

World Intellectual Property Day is observed annually on 26 April. The event was established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2000 to “raise awareness of how patents, copyright, trademarks and designs impact on daily life” and “to celebrate creativity, and the contribution made by creators and innovators to the development of societies across the globe”.

WorldIPDay2021 shines a light on the critical role of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the economy and how they can use intellectual property (IP) rights to build stronger, more competitive and resilient businesses.

Today we present a glimpse at the year gone by in terms of changes to the IPR and related provisions coupled with selected judgments. Also sharing thoughts on “IP & SMEs: Taking your ideas to market” - the theme by WIPO celebrating this World IP Day.
